Sometimes dark is cold and lonely, sometimes dark is full of terror and anxiety, and sometimes dark is full of creative potential. Imagine the singularity. Not a physics person? Put the Universe as we know it on super fast rewind all the way back past the Big Bang to the very origin of space and time, just darkness and potential.
That’s this new moon!
The new moon in Aries has the same dark potentiality with the added nudge of Aries to GO! DO IT NOW! Intention setting is, in truth, creating. When you set an intention, mindfully, you call in and co-create exactly what you want and need, and the Universe (which is you) will keep on bringing it until you cry uncle! What is it you are planting? What are you calling in for yourself, your community, the world, and future generations? Not all intentions will manifest in this lunar cycle nor in this lifetime, but so many will. For this new moon ritual, you will call on your own powers of creation to tap into that Universal potential within which ultimately begins in darkness and silence. We are all aspects of The One. We are all the many faces of Brahma. So strap on your hero hair, grab your ram, and lets go take over the world! (in a really non-violent and inspiring way, of course)
A dark room or space for meditation
Earplugs or noise canceling headphones
Warm clothing or blanket
Art or creation supplies TBD by your meditation (this can be as simple as a pencil and paper or as elaborate as a glass blowing studio)
So this is our “big bang” intention setting moment, but first we need that mysterious and dark potential space. The silence that is beyond silence. If you have access to a sensory deprivation tank in your area and the idea of that doesn’t intimidate you, that would be the PERFECT place to meditate on singularity. Any dark quiet space will do, but try to create as much sensory deprivation as possible. Use earplugs or noise canceling headphones, and cover your eyes with an eye mask or an eye pillow, and cocoon your body in a blanket. Get comfortable like savasana and find your way into silence and stillness. Just watch your breath moving in and out. Eventually, images will begin to appear on your mind-screen. No story, just images. Mentally, ask “what am I meant to bring forth?” See what comes. Have ZERO expectations for yourself. The subconscious mind is a mysterious place. Spend as much time as you need to in this dark potential space. When you feel connected to an image, an intention, an idea, a desire, a creation, begin to see it take form. Imagine it sprouting roots and coming to life and wrapping around you like a climbing rose, then see it springing from your palms and your feet so that everything you touch or step on becomes part of this creation or intention/vision. See the vines growing out of your mouth so that when you speak the seeds of your creation are scattered into the atmosphere. As you feel ready, begin to slowly come out of your meditation. Remove the eye and ear cover but keep your eyes closed and remain in silence as you move into the next part:
Immediately after your meditation experience, make a few notes without much analysis or thought. It could be just a few words (less anxiety, new job, family), or it could be a very specific creation (Start an animal rescue). Now, time to create! Cast aside any doubt you have about yourself as an artist, the magic is in the doing, not the product. CREATE something that represents your universal big bang. Examples: draw a sketch of your dream home, plan the ultimate garden, make a wish bottle including totems that represent the aspects you want to call in to your life, sculpt a mini-you out of clay and carve a word on it such as “confident”. I’m sure by now you are getting the idea! Place the finished item on your altar/sacred space until the Full Moon in 2 weeks. This new moon is about CREATING and being courageous and stepping into your life, horns first. You’ve absolutely got this.
Happy Enchanting! )0(
